Activity Check

Neon Requiem uses a modified "check-in" activity check. There are no comment counts for activity check. Instead, your AC is in the form of a report written by your character and submitted to their caseworker at the Bureau of Soul Affairs. (If your character would absolutely refuse to do this, AC can be written by their caseworker instead!) This report is a brief summary of or thoughts on your character’s activities of the month, to be added to their file for consideration in Soul Judgment.
This can be as long or short as you like, in any format you please. Your character can attempt to mislead or lie. However, if they do lie, the truth of their activities will appear as a magical addendum at the bottom of the page (because we really do want to know what they’re up to!) Don't worry: there will be no consequences for what your character confesses in AC.
AC is due by midnight EST on the last day of each month. Failure to post will result in your character being swept from the game.
If circumstances require that you take a hiatus, you are excused from AC for the requested calendar month. You may only take one hiatus per three month period. (EX: if you hiatus in January, you must complete AC for February and March.)
If you are in need of a longer hiatus or you have special circumstances of any kind, please let the mods know and we'll be happy to work something out with you.
For new characters: Reply beneath your handle with your character's name and canon in the subject line. All of your monthly AC will replied to this comment (see example below.)
For all characters: Each month, reply to your character's comment, write the month in the subject line, and write your AC in the comment. You can do this in any format you like, but here's a nice standard form to make things simple.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT
An unusually compliant and forthright Soul, eager for information and receptive to instruction. Exemplary, really, if only he would volunteer information about himself without me having to grill it out of him. He seems more accustomed to interrogation than conversation.
Subject reports looking into several employment opportunities but appears reluctant to pursue anything related to law enforcement. Curious, given his former line of work. But I suppose we all enjoy a change of scenery now and then, don't we?
Speaking of which, he's particularly taken with the plant life of the city and has expressed an interest in gardening, as well as music and poetry. I must admit when I first laid eyes on him he didn't strike me as the artistic type, but after speaking with him I can understand how his quietly unobtrusive manner may lend itself to those more introspective pursuits. I have concerns about the effect the city will have on such an inexperienced and impressionable Soul.
Subject's housing situation is unclear. He claims not to have slept since arriving in the city weeks ago and moreover that he doesn't require it, nor many of the resources the typical Soul does. But I suspect it goes deeper than that, and he believes he doesn't deserve even the most basic of amenities. There's an unmistakable emphasis placed on what he is over who he is, but I'm confident that in time that mindset could shift toward a more healthy one.
After all, if there's anything we have in abundance here, it's time.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT
Subject has found employment performing manual labour in various capacities. I have no doubt he's capable, but it does seem an odd choice for someone so inclined toward intellectual and artistic pursuits. When I told him as much, he explained his desire to not draw unwanted attention to himself, believing it's the type of work that generally goes unnoticed by others.
Well, I can't say he's wrong. Rather like overworked public servants whose efforts are likewise criminally underappreciated.
Then there's the unfortunate kidnapping incident that occurred earlier this month. It's unclear to what extent he may have been involved. He's been reluctant to speak much on the subject, except to mention his role in assisting others to safety and asking after any investigations that have been made into the matter. None, as far as I'm aware — an answer that appeared to trouble him.
Subject assures me his housing situation has been taken care of, per my advice. I have the distinct impression it merely serves as a place to store his belongings; subject seems strangely detached about the other purposes a home might serve. When pressed for details, he informed me he chose to keep the extravagant clothing our dear Mayor-Queen Niesha provided during the Winter Solstice ball — and who could blame him! He also reports acquiring a musical instrument and a houseplant to care for.
All in all, subject remains blessedly cooperative and is making good progress. I must say he's a refreshing change from the hopeless cases I'm usually assigned.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT
Subject is enjoying his work at the Summerland Botanic Gardens and has formed something of a friendship with the giant wolf creature that prowls the premises. Apparently, the creature has helped him learn how to properly identify weeds and other garden nuisances despite being incapable of speech. Even after all this time I still find myself fascinated by the bonds that can develop in this place.
Speaking of bonds, subject reports being deceived into attending a speed dating service; he was lured there under the false pretenses of a job interview. How curious. He didn't appear to be upset, however, and I've discovered that asking the right questions is the key to coaxing more than a handful of words out of him on any given subject. I was able to get him to speak at some length about his new acquaintances, one of whom has a pet wolf that he seems especially pleased about the prospect of meeting. Between that and the creature at the gardens, I'm beginning to wonder if he has an affinity for them. He also expressed an interest in learning more about dragons, of all things.
He mentioned researching various scientific projects at the university, so I encouraged him to consider enrollment and possibly joining the research team there. Furthering knowledge is a very worthwhile pursuit.
The treatment he receives here — specifically the common courtesy he's described — continues to be a source of astonishment for him. Viewing Limbo through the lens of his experience, one would think this is a paradise. That alone tells me so much more about his former life and where he's from than any of the notes in his file.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT
Subject remains one of the more productive, self-driven, and least troublesome Souls I've dealt with, and continues to make good progress. A brief summary of noteworthy happenings:
- Enrolled at Atropos University as I suggested.
- Conducted personal investigations into recent city-wide incidents.
- Continues to seek manual labour work around the city.
- Assisted newcomers at Orientation per my request.
- Attended the Hanami Festival on multiple occasions.
- Acquired additional musical instruments he's learning to play.
Subject reports unusual symptoms that appear to be wholly unrelated to the recent trouble with the water supply, and asked after the availability of medical services for biorobotic synthetic beings such as himself. Unfortunately, the closest I could turn up were electronics repair shops, mechanics and the like, nothing approaching the advanced android technicians or roboticists he described. Subject thanked me and stated he would pursue self-maintenance options. I'll endeavour to provide him with the necessary tools, if I can, but I fear those too may be lacking here.Subject also inquired about the status of another resident of Requiem, a Mr. P, no known surname; I could find no records of this individual. Which leads me to wonder: are androids capable of inventing imaginary friends? It's a concerning development, particularly in light of him seeking medical assistance. Perhaps I should start directing him toward more social outlets.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT
[ What follows is a clinical recounting of K's involvement in the "short-term debugging project" at NeoNet, worded in such a way that his true intentions — to save the so-called "glitch" before it could be killed — are kept ambiguous, and hopefully won't attract any bureaucratic suspicion. But if any detailed records exist of his time in VR, that could complicate matters...
A few other relevant updates are provided: his studies and artistic pursuits are going well; he was surprised by an invitation to a social gathering involving poker and enjoyed himself; his houseplants are thriving.
He concludes the report by thanking his caseworker for the music recommendations. ]

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT
My work with BEASTFORCE, studies, and musical pursuits have been productive. The Summerland Gardens continue to flourish, as do my own plants.
I don't believe my design was meant to facilitate self-maintenance, but I'm gradually learning how to perform it with the tools available to me — thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Per your instructions I attended the galas in the suits you selected for me. I can report that the gatherings were less "eventful" than the Winter Solstice Ball, and I found myself reflecting on how I paradoxically become more aware of my aloneness when surrounded by people.
The gulf of experience that separates me from everyone else remains difficult to bridge, but I appreciate the kindness and patience that others have shown me.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT
The beach appears to be of some fascination for the subject. He has been spending a substantial amount of his free time there, pursuing new hobbies and exploring the ruins in the company of one of the private investigators he's mentioned before. Interestingly, he also made mention of sharing another dance with the woman whom he met at the Winter Solstice Ball, and about finally meeting her pet wolf.
Sounds like my time has come to join that office betting pool you're all always nattering on about. You know the one. I've already been in contact with Raynier and Thea Winters on this matter...
On a more serious note, subject reports worsening feedback from his programming that manifests most noticeably as chronic pain. The way he describes the phenomenon and his biorobotic physiology pique my scientific curiosity, but unfortunately the problem remains that there are none here who possess the knowledge required to treat an android. Despite these setbacks, subject continues to be extraordinarily productive in his work with BEASTFORCE.
