Activity Check

Neon Requiem uses a modified "check-in" activity check. There are no comment counts for activity check. Instead, your AC is in the form of a report written by your character and submitted to their caseworker at the Bureau of Soul Affairs. (If your character would absolutely refuse to do this, AC can be written by their caseworker instead!) This report is a brief summary of or thoughts on your character’s activities of the month, to be added to their file for consideration in Soul Judgment.

This can be as long or short as you like, in any format you please. Your character can attempt to mislead or lie. However, if they do lie, the truth of their activities will appear as a magical addendum at the bottom of the page (because we really do want to know what they’re up to!) Don't worry: there will be no consequences for what your character confesses in AC.

AC is due by midnight EST on the last day of each month. Failure to post will result in your character being swept from the game.

If circumstances require that you take a hiatus, you are excused from AC for the requested calendar month. You may only take one hiatus per three month period. (EX: if you hiatus in January, you must complete AC for February and March.)

If you are in need of a longer hiatus or you have special circumstances of any kind, please let the mods know and we'll be happy to work something out with you.

For new players: Leave a blank comment with your handle in the subject line.

For new characters: Reply beneath your handle with your character's name and canon in the subject line. All of your monthly AC will replied to this comment (see example below.)

For all characters: Each month, reply to your character's comment, write the month in the subject line, and write your AC in the comment. You can do this in any format you like, but here's a nice standard form to make things simple.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT

DETAIL OF EVENT(S):
- Arrival in Requiem.
- Debriefing with a colleague over drinks.
- Pulled off the street and drugged (perhaps vice versa) to be held in an undisclosed location, bound and tortured. Couldn't honestly say that's the worst day I've had, but it's up there. Unknown culprits still at large.
- Snow.

ACTIONS TAKEN:
Since I have no doubt you're keeping an eye on me, you know I've been conducting investigations on my own into the kidnappings and a few other minor incidents. While I've made some progress, to say I've hit a wall using currently available resources is an understatement. I have no interest in rejoining the police force, but if it'll get me access to a few more resources, I'm willing to offer my considerable skills as a consultant. Pass that info along.

SUMMARY:
Your welcome wagon leaves something to be desired. As does your follow-up to major crimes.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT

DETAIL OF EVENT(S):
- Invitation about a job opportunity turned out to be false. Forced interaction nevertheless resulted in some useful and/or interesting contacts.
- Contaminated water caused adverse reactions throughout the city. Results vary between individuals.
- Spent an unknown amount of time living out my worst nightmare. Thank you very fucking much for that.

ACTIONS TAKEN:
Participated in the "speed dating" event with as much enthusiasm as it deserved (none). I really don't appreciate being forced into that situation. You should be ashamed of yourselves for the deception and for taking advantage of people's expectations like that. Trust is in limited supply. Fool me once.
As for my actions the rest of the month, you can go fuck yourself. You want it? You write the report.

SUMMARY:
The water situation in this city was already questionable at best. Do better.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT

DETAIL OF EVENT(S):
- applied for and acquired PI license and an office in the East District
- Hanami Festival in the West District’s Little Yomi neighborhood
- two (2) personal acquaintances vanished from Requiem. One (1) returned after a week; the other has not.

ACTIONS TAKEN:
Still setting up the PI business, but I have feelers out for cases. Met with a fellow investigator to discuss recent city-wide events. (I've got my eyes on you.) Attended the festival. Nothing major to report.

SUMMARY:
See above. For multiple reasons, I'm not in the mood for this shit today.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT

DETAIL OF EVENT(S):
- 30-day trial of the NeoNet Virtuabro
- wildly intense lucid dreaming
- had some visitors. Some friendly, some not.
- next you're going to tell me this isn't connected at all

ACTIONS TAKEN:
Does sleep deprivation count as an action?

SUMMARY:
Without considering the side effects, the VR device is pretty impressive. It's baffling how such a sophisticated thing can exist when the rest of the tech here is such shit. Also, you owe me a week's worth of shut eye. The bags under my eyes are bigger than my emotional ones.

ADDENDUM: Got to see the end of the universe. So it wasn't a total loss.

DETAIL OF EVENT(S):
- attended pre-gala season fashion show
- hired to work security at Swansdown Spring Gala
- hired to work security at Bloodscensual Night Gala
- received invitation to CD event

ACTIONS TAKEN:

SUMMARY:
I feel like since you were there for the beginning of this bullshit that you know very well how things went. Busy. If I never attend another gala, it will be too soon.

The suits were well received.

Not the first time I've had someone trying to kill me. Probably won't be the last. But it's getting pretty old.

Consider this note "proof of life" in lieu of my usual report.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT

I received no report from this soul this month, but the detective has had his hands full with the investigation into the disappearance of Mr. Braun. His hyperfocus is really inconvenient for me at times, but it appears to get the job done. One can only hope he and his fellows are on good enough grounds after this to continue cooperating.

Some violence has been done to his person, but somehow less than in previous months. Not sure if he's learning or the wrongdoers are getting lazier. Probably both.

Sincerely but with scorn,
Raynier

P.S.: Someone who cares about him should really tell him that too many of those slushies cannot possibly be good for him.
