Activity Check

Neon Requiem uses a modified "check-in" activity check. There are no comment counts for activity check. Instead, your AC is in the form of a report written by your character and submitted to their caseworker at the Bureau of Soul Affairs. (If your character would absolutely refuse to do this, AC can be written by their caseworker instead!) This report is a brief summary of or thoughts on your character’s activities of the month, to be added to their file for consideration in Soul Judgment.

This can be as long or short as you like, in any format you please. Your character can attempt to mislead or lie. However, if they do lie, the truth of their activities will appear as a magical addendum at the bottom of the page (because we really do want to know what they’re up to!) Don't worry: there will be no consequences for what your character confesses in AC.

AC is due by midnight EST on the last day of each month. Failure to post will result in your character being swept from the game.

If circumstances require that you take a hiatus, you are excused from AC for the requested calendar month. You may only take one hiatus per three month period. (EX: if you hiatus in January, you must complete AC for February and March.)

If you are in need of a longer hiatus or you have special circumstances of any kind, please let the mods know and we'll be happy to work something out with you.

For new players: Leave a blank comment with your handle in the subject line.

For new characters: Reply beneath your handle with your character's name and canon in the subject line. All of your monthly AC will replied to this comment (see example below.)

For all characters: Each month, reply to your character's comment, write the month in the subject line, and write your AC in the comment. You can do this in any format you like, but here's a nice standard form to make things simple.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT

Thank you for the report, Dr. Serra. I appreciate the lack of gruesome details that you usually provide.

However, attaching selfies you took at a lewd party sort of defeats the purpose of my request. I am at least comforted by the fact YOUR clothes were on, but I will not be able to unsee the background of that seventh picture for the rest of my eternal life.

So. Thank you for that.

It should be clear to you by now that I have no interest in your games. I do not intend for this to change. I do not need your help or your concern. I certainly do not want it.

I enjoyed the gala. A shame I only had time to attend the one.

I am ever fascinated by the various establishments in the city. I have been exploring them when time permits.

Forgive me, the month was rather uneventful and I find myself busy with my garden and my motorcycle.

Mr. S. Castellanos' Soul Report

Well, it seems Mr. Castellanos still has a capacity for ambition after all, as he and Mr. Oda have opened a detective agency. Perhaps I have spoken too soon and he truly has no other talents, but it's something.

While not officially sponsored by the Kayfabe Syndicate, one Ruthie Brawn does seem to have a vested interest in their...survival. This does not appear to be a new development, though it has evidently escalated recently.

Considering he remains as indiscreet as ever, this is probably little surprise.

Nothing else of note to report.

RE: MONTHLY SOUL REPORT FOR M.SOV

Unsurprisingly, given her background, Ms. Sov was in attendance at the yearly Swansdown Gala. Seemed to have a good time, even. Though she didn't require prodding to attend so that's also no surprise. Her and Mr. Castellanos sure made a rather handsome pair on the dance floor, didn't they?

Ms. Sov also appeared to have more than a good time at that other event. Dare I say that scene seems to suit her in a way. Perhaps it's that glow of hers.

Regardless, between the organized events and other recorded appearances she's keeping up that social butterfly behavior. A fair amount of travel this month around the city and modest activity at her residence as she seemed to have further renovations done. Personally I'm curious to see if she intends to live there alone. Or which of her recorded acquaintances become frequent visitors.

Some curious chatter on the back channels, however nothing worth looking into at this time.

MONTHLY SOUL REPORT RE: Scientia, Ignis

Amazing how some of these adults drag their feet like children and cling to stubbornness. I can't believe how many of us had to wrangle souls this year to get them to attend Swansdown Gala. Don't they realize how much effort goes into these galas? Or that we have better things to do than try to dress them appropriately for such events? I could have gotten a head start on my reports...

At least I finally got Mr. Scientia in a rather sharp-looking suit. And found a matching cane to go with it! I'm sure he was quite appreciative of that.

I admit I was a touch concerned with his wellbeing but I'm certain the galas this month have surely helped both his anima generation and his social life. If nothing else the events hopefully kept him too busy to try to hunt.

My work with BEASTFORCE, studies, and musical pursuits have been productive. The Summerland Gardens continue to flourish, as do my own plants.

I don't believe my design was meant to facilitate self-maintenance, but I'm gradually learning how to perform it with the tools available to me — thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Per your instructions I attended the galas in the suits you selected for me. I can report that the gatherings were less "eventful" than the Winter Solstice Ball, and I found myself reflecting on how I paradoxically become more aware of my aloneness when surrounded by people.

The gulf of experience that separates me from everyone else remains difficult to bridge, but I appreciate the kindness and patience that others have shown me.

Madame,

Please see note to the secretary regarding my tardiness, with my apologies.

I find myself growing used to the ins and outs of this place enough to feel the itch to seek out some new thrills. The clubs here are not quite the same as felling a behemoth but it will do finely.

I am also mending fences with some of Jill’s friends.

I had no idea that this month was going to end up being a month of parties!! I couldn't get enough! I had the most fun I've had in months! If I end up being stuck here for the summer, I hope those months are just as great. Seriously!

It reminds me of some of the parties we would have on Neomuna. Picture a giant outdoor block party with drinks, music and dancing and tons of gaming!! Take notes - I'd love to see stuff like that here!!

To Whom It May Concern,

First, I set forth that I have indeed registered my formal complaint on form A-295 with HR. I was given reference code FC-784-3981 by T. Solomons-Chen. She rolled her eyes at me, by the way.

Second, as I know that no one at all is going to actually READ my complaint, I will reiterate it here.

Having been with this company for half a century, I would like to think that I have demonstrated a particular skill in the Accounting Division that is not easily replaced. Why, then, I am shuffled into customer service I cannot fathom. Unless, of course, I was assigned this role due to the demographics of my subject.

Let me reiterate that I have on file and in my record form R37-1, Formal Request for Ideological Accomodation in which I have specifically requested that I not be assigned to any derivation of vampire to be found in any universe.

I understand that the situation with A. Ancunín's previous caseworker was found to be untenable, and that they were summarily dismissed. However, that does not render my request, which was approved in perpetuity, null nor void.

I understand that T. Spleenrender's complaint must also be accommodated. I am in no way suggesting or condoning that he be reassigned. However, surely you could have found someone else.

Regardless of all of this, it is particularly offensive that I be assigned to this obvious vampire. Kindly reassign SOMEONE ELSE forthwith.

M. Morrison.

Master Bramer,

While this moon brought a number of challenges, I can honestly say they have been welcome ones, for the most part. Joshua's long awaited arrival being first among them. Time will tell how his presence will change the course of our fates, though I can only imagine it to be for the better.

The matter of the mirrors brought with them their own revelations as well... Was the cause of this ever ascertained? I expect not, lest it had aught to do with the carnival that emerged from the sea.

Though it will be a pleasant diversion I look forward to enjoying for leisure rather than hunting.

Regards,

Sirs,

We have another slippery one. Some warning about that would have been appreciated before I had to track him down to get his report in.

On the other hand, in person reports may be preferred after watching the poor bastard try his hand at typing.

Rowe expressed some grievances over the galas that marked his arrival but had no complaints over the provided accommodations. Grew dodgy when the question of employment came up, suspect the gangs will have a new recruit soon if they don't already. Impressed the importance of building contacts and maintaining anima generation, he seemed receptive, more likely was nodding along to try and get rid of me.

Will continue to observe.

I can't say I understand why anyone would call her Lady Iceheart. She's far from icy. Not only was Miss Ysayle very cooperative about attending all the galas, but she also volunteered to protect the unfortunate victims of Styx's alleged wrongdoings! And with the clean up efforts, besides.

I've been encouraging her to make new friends, of course, and it seems like she's already hit it off with her new roommate. So, that's encouraging.

Keep up the good work, Ysayle! We're all rooting for you, kupo!
