Activity Check

Neon Requiem uses a modified "check-in" activity check. There are no comment counts for activity check. Instead, your AC is in the form of a report written by your character and submitted to their caseworker at the Bureau of Soul Affairs. (If your character would absolutely refuse to do this, AC can be written by their caseworker instead!) This report is a brief summary of or thoughts on your character’s activities of the month, to be added to their file for consideration in Soul Judgment.

This can be as long or short as you like, in any format you please. Your character can attempt to mislead or lie. However, if they do lie, the truth of their activities will appear as a magical addendum at the bottom of the page (because we really do want to know what they’re up to!) Don't worry: there will be no consequences for what your character confesses in AC.

AC is due by midnight EST on the last day of each month. Failure to post will result in your character being swept from the game.

If circumstances require that you take a hiatus, you are excused from AC for the requested calendar month. You may only take one hiatus per three month period. (EX: if you hiatus in January, you must complete AC for February and March.)

If you are in need of a longer hiatus or you have special circumstances of any kind, please let the mods know and we'll be happy to work something out with you.

For new players: Leave a blank comment with your handle in the subject line.

For new characters: Reply beneath your handle with your character's name and canon in the subject line. All of your monthly AC will replied to this comment (see example below.)

For all characters: Each month, reply to your character's comment, write the month in the subject line, and write your AC in the comment. You can do this in any format you like, but here's a nice standard form to make things simple.

I was once again regaled with a long list of accomplishments of the month, most of which went into far more detail than necessary. I informed Dr. Serra that he did not need to share such things with me and he replied that he wanted to make sure I "had all the info I needed. ;)"

I feel like Dr. Serra is displaying some thrill issues with his choice of company this month, but honestly, if I say as much I'm sure I'll just get even more details.

As noted, post my previous report on Mr. Castellanos, in addition to his lack of flight he also shed his blue: details remain vague, but it boils down to Mr. Castellanos' trademark calm under pressure and a series of confrontations with his superiors leading to his forced resignation from the RPD along with his (former?) partner.

I doubt this will keep him down for long, as he's found plenty of trouble in the meantime to keep him busy.

After the unexpected gift of holiday cookies I had hoped that the subject would be more amenable to working with me. This has unfortunately not been the case.

He does, however, appear to be keeping himself in good spirits, despite the loss of his (partner/roommate/other?). He expressed much the same enthusiasm with regards to the speed dating event as he did his training project last month and the seasonal celebrations in the months prior. Apparently he enjoys meeting new people.

He also enquired about the identity of my "crimson bond" which is, as far as I am able to tell, not dissimilar to the concept of a Valentine. I informed him that it would be inappropriate to discuss my personal life with him, to which he responded that I seemed perfectly happy to discuss his. Once again, I reminded him that it is, in fact, my job.

After seeing just how sweet you can be with your friends -- forgive me, is 'friend' an appropriate term for those particular individuals? You'll just have to correct me if I'm wrong, I suppose. In any case, after seeing first hand how sweet you were at the hanami festival and your touching visit with Jill, I'm quite disappointed not to receive a response from you.

How are you and Karlach doing? And Halsin? How long did he spend in the woods this last time? Is Dion treating you well? Did you patch things up with Mara? What about your outlaw friend? Has Torgal finally let you pet him? He looks so soft! I'm certain it will be worth the wait.

Master Bramer,

More and more I doubt the necessity of these reports. You've 'sources' to keep you informed of my activities, do you not? Yet you insist on hearing the my version of events. In the interest of keeping our contact to a minimum, I will comply.

In truth this month was relatively quiet and seems to have passed quickly. The cottage has grown quiet once more though I am in no rush to fill that void just yet. ~~The position seems to be cursed.~~ Jill, as ever, remains as close and precious as family. I worry for her, as I am certain she worries for me. At least I am learning not to turn away from it. Jack is another friend I am increasingly grateful for.

Starting next moon I will begin taking classes at Atropos University at the behest of Luis and have been enjoying the Hanami Festival in my idle hours. It is my hope to attend a play with Astarion soon, that I may keep my word to the man.

I have been busy. It feels good. On days I am not busy sewing, I am learning to be more confident with my motorcycle. I still enjoy meeting new faces and finding new friends, but I still do spend most of my days with Dion. I am grateful to this place for the opportunity to get to know him. Sometimes I can't believe that I never took the time to really speak to him at home. I was so caught up in my own head at times. He has become like a brother to me, and I would do anything to see him happy.

Have I told you that already? It seems silly that my dearest friend here is one that comes from my world. There are so many interesting people here. Like Astarion. Most people treat me delicately for one reason or another, and while I don't dislike it, it has been... fun, I suppose, to spend time with someone that isn't going out of his way to be nice. Is that strange?

Clive and I are beginning to make a garden together. I'm looking forward to a beautiful spring.

I can see why this soul was giving one of the others problems. She's quite the busy social butterfly!

And a slippery one too. Looks like we had another hiccup in the system and she's one of the few that got an unscheduled visit home before everything got fixed. I've attached the report, hopefully IT will find it useful.

Given Sov's history of avoidance combined with the above, a home visit wasn't scheduled. You know I like starting with a more hands-off approach for these types. Let them think we've given up trying to keep track of them.

While it's unclear what may have taken place while she visited home, almost immediately upon return several bar visits were noted (minimal overlap with prior recorded locations) as well as several trips out of the city. There are additionally recorded visits to the Hanami Festival and multiple days at residential showings. Difficult to say if the few days outside our city provided her some kind of motivation to be active, next month should be more telling.

As Mr. Scientia failed to check in last month I took it upon myself to reach out early in the month. You know normally I like to send letters but unfortunately my penmanship would have been wasted with this case so I settled on a phone call. I regret to say he was terse and extremely uncooperative. Maybe the care package didn't go over well?

It does seem he hasn't been out hunting much and spent a bit of time on campus, surprisingly at the library. I didn't realize we've had enough vision-impaired souls pass through to merit even a small braille collection. Learn something new every day!

I was concerned about his social life as I haven't heard him mentioned hardly at all in the water cooler gossip, and he did seem rather broken up about being away from his friends when he arrived. But that may be taking a turn as he spent some time with that charming girl who's fond of the cold. I can't recall her name but surely you know the one I'm talking about. In any case, they looked quite cute on surveillance.

Hopefully he won't be such a sourpuss next month and will do his own report.

When we lose track of Dr. Serra because he has been obliterated from existence because he slept with something or someone he should not have, don't say I didn't see it coming.

Subject remains one of the more productive, self-driven, and least troublesome Souls I've dealt with, and continues to make good progress. A brief summary of noteworthy happenings:

Enrolled at Atropos University as I suggested.
Conducted personal investigations into recent city-wide incidents.
Continues to seek manual labour work around the city.
Assisted newcomers at Orientation per my request.
Attended the Hanami Festival on multiple occasions.
Acquired additional musical instruments he's learning to play.

Subject reports unusual symptoms that appear to be wholly unrelated to the recent trouble with the water supply, and asked after the availability of medical services for biorobotic synthetic beings such as himself. Unfortunately, the closest I could turn up were electronics repair shops, mechanics and the like, nothing approaching the advanced android technicians or roboticists he described. Subject thanked me and stated he would pursue self-maintenance options. I'll endeavour to provide him with the necessary tools, if I can, but I fear those too may be lacking here.

Subject also inquired about the status of another resident of Requiem, a Mr. P, no known surname; I could find no records of this individual. Which leads me to wonder: are androids capable of inventing imaginary friends? It's a concerning development, particularly in light of him seeking medical assistance. Perhaps I should start directing him toward more social outlets.
